Abstract (English)

The Ecuadorian Amazon has been the site of corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives promoted by oil companies. This paper will specifically analyze the actions taken in the Cofán Dureno community of Sucumbíos Province. This article aims to deconstruct the operational logic of community development programs in health and education implemented between 2015 and 2024. Through a qualitative document review and critical triangulation of sources, it analyzes how CSR operates as a tool for legitimizing extractivism, prioritizing paternalistic formalities over the reparation of historical damages and respect for Indigenous collective rights. The goal is to problematize the role of CSR in the well-being of Amazonian communities.</text>
