Abstract (English)

The research, conducted with students and teachers from the Basic Education program at Universidad Técnica Particular de Loja (Ecuador), aimed to strengthen autonomous learning in higher education. It was found that online activities do not effectively foster autonomy, highlighting the need to improve teaching plans. A teacher training model was proposed to promote self-management and autonomy through cognitive, attitudinal, and applicative competencies. The study aligns with SDGs 4, 3, and 10. A quantitative–qualitative, explanatory approach was used, incorporating documentary analysis, surveys, and hermeneutic and hypothetical–deductive methods. The study concludes that it is essential to incorporate didactic strategies that develop critical thinking, self-regulation, self-reflection, and self-motivation.
