Abstract (English)

Research in the parishes of Quinticusig and Zumbahua, Cotopaxi, examined wool quality in 164 Creole sheep before and after administering an antiparasitic vaccine against Strongyloides, Haemonchus contortus, and Cooperia curticei. Average fiber diameter was measured using the S-FIBER EC V3.1 portable instrument using light diffraction; length, crimp, density, strength, and breaking point were determined manually. The paired Wilcoxon test was applied. The results revealed statistically significant improvements in fineness, length, crimp, density, and strength with p < 0.05, reflecting a significant advance in wool productivity and quality.
